Let’s go for a walk around the older neighborhood, the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona.

When the evening is approaching Barcelona, people used to hurrying up, going up and down by Las Ramblas. A lot of touristic groups are back to their hotels after a busy and interesting day, young people having fun with their friends… That’s all happening around the chaotic old city.

When the sun is almost down is a great time to enjoy your walk by the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona. Today we want to go straight to the heart of this magic place. It could be also a part of the nice and romantic walk that ends in a romantic corner as Plaza Felip Neri is. So what? Are you ready to start?

As we have mentioned in the previous article, Barcelona is a big love of  Woody Allen and Plaza de Felip Neri isn’t an exception. Why asking you? Well, you will see and feel it when you come to visit Barcelona. Is one of that places where time stops and it feels so quiet. In spite of being very popular is really a peaceful place.

If right now you are staying at Plaza Nova right in front of The Cathedral of Barcelona, turn to the right and go down by Carrer de la Palla till the place when it meets with Carrer dels Banys Nous. After approximately one minute going downturn to the left, to the Baixada Santa Eulalia that will bring you to Plaza Sant Felip Neri. Approaching this charming place you will note a very pleasant aroma of flowers or perfumes that come from a family soap fabric of Brothers Sabater. Don’t leave it without buying a small piece of artisanal soap.

After passing some time at Plaza Sant Felip Neri you could also take Carrer Sant Domenech del Call where at the corner with Carrer Marlet you can visit an old Jewish Synagogue and a small tea shop Caj Chai. Nice place to end the route to the heart of Ciutat Vella.

As a small advice, we recommend you use a map due to the chaotic streets of Gothic Quarter in Barcelona. We hope you will have a nice evening!
